Hi,
I've run into a problem applying host profiles to my hosts. I have a direct attach SAN in my lab as I am waiting to get a switch in the mix at the moment. Because I use my lab for multiple virtualisation platforms, I may have VMware running on one node and RHEV running on another. VMware is greedy and mounts all the file system it sees, so I have had to mask the LUN that I use for RHEV. After doing this on a host and then creating the host profile, I can see this mask rule in the host profile, but it doesn't seem to be working. The rule is created on boot up, however the rule set doesn't seem to be loaded or run and the LUN unclaimed. The rules were loaded and run and the LUN unclaimed when I created the host profile though. Also, when checking compliance, it says that the host is not in compliance with the host profile stating that the host state doesn't match specification :SATP configuration for the device needs to be updated, and host requires a reboot before previously applied configuration changes will take affect - I have obviously rebooted.
Any clues on how I can fix this? I thought I had actually come up with a good use case for the mask plugin... and then sadly, I can't seem to use it. I am using autodeploy for this hosts as RHEV is loaded directly on the local drive and working with vsphere 5.5ds. Now I have pretty much run out of ideas.
Thanks
Bill
