Lenovo RD530 hangs at initializing acpi on ESXi 5.5

Hello,

I have just purchased a Lenovo RD530 server. I initially installed the VMWare Hypervisor 5.1 disc that I had handy, which worked great until I went to enter the license key and was informed that 5.1 has a memory limit of 32GB (the server has 40GB). I went and downloaded 5.5 and installed it, since it does not have that restriction. The server boots, and hangs at "initializing acpi". I let it sit there for at least 20 minutes, but it doesn't budge from there. I tried upgrading the BIOS, since others were successful with this issue by upgrading the BIOS, albeit on different hardware. Alas, the server still hangs at "initializing acpi".

I ended up pulling 8GB out of the server, so I can get it up and running. I would like to get it working on 5.5 and put the 8GB back in if possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim
