I was able to successfully test this using the method mentioned in that other post. I was able to disconnect the host (with VMs running on it) from the source vCenter. I added it to the destination vCenter, but at the Datacenter object level. Once it was added, I moved it to the destination cluster and removed it from the source vCenter. Worked perfectly, zero downtime. It's obviously critical that the EVC Mode is the same at source and destination
