I have not registered anything since I can't find a link to register it. As far as whether or not it's the FREE version, I began the process by clicking on the link on the vmware site for the free version but never saw anything again about whether it was free or not. I tried (again) to check for a key by clicking on DOWNLOAD but all that happens is the file begins to download... there's no info that comes up... just the Mac download manager getting it. This is an ISO file (obviously) so I burned it into a flash drive and used that to boot and intall into the Proliant. It really worked like a champ and is running as we speak. But I'd like to get this registered correctly before I start setting up any virtual machines.
My sense is that you are seeing information on your myvmware page(s) that I am for some reason not seeing. Sorry to be so dense about this but sometimes what is obvious to the initiated is a non-starter for newbies.
