RAM Requirements for vCenter Upgrade 5.1 to 5.5

So,, I am looking at upgrading from vSphere 5.1 to 5.5b.

Looking at the 5.1 upgrade guide compared to the 5.5 upgrade guide, there appears to be a rework of the Minimum hardware requirements for installing SSO, Web Client, Inventory Service, and vCenter on the same machine.

The 5.1 upgrade guide Page 18 list 10GB as the amount of RAM required. The 5.5 upgrade guide looks like 12 GB of RAM is required.

Was there a reason it was increased or did I miss something?

I am running 5.1 on a VM with 8 GB of RAM with all components installed on the VM (SSO, Web Client, Inventory Service, and vCenter Server) and it is working.

Using the vCenter Perf Monitor, Active usage is a little over 1 GB but Consumed is 5.76 GB. Logging onto vCenter, the task mgr shows about 5.657 GB in use (not sure if the Consumed shown in the vCenter Perf Monitor is the same as the task mgr).

In any case, can I get by with 10GB or even 8GB on the vCenter Server instead of 12GB as listed?

thanks
