VMStartTomcatImmediate not starting 1603 error. Now ....MainEngineThread is returning 1603

Starting a New Discussion thread.

So i started with this issue... TomCat reporting 1603, being unable to start....

Screen Shot 2013-05-22 at 17.15.08.png

But all i got from the logs was:

CustomAction VM_Start Tomcat Immediate returned actual error code 1603.

I tried deleting all from %TEMP%, and created a whole dedicated vmware account on this windows 2012 server 64bit (btw), albeit the "all-in-one" installation crashed out here. Everything i have tried so far... didnt work.

Im stuck here. There is no further FYI information on the forums or knowledge board.

At this point, all and any tips are welcome...

Else its back to square one for me to have a go.

--------

I found the SQL process in the services list and created a dedicated (linux style) user "vmware" to drive all the vmware related services.

This meant that SQL Service required by the VMWARE prerequisites (database) is now accessible. - presumingly error 1603 "resolved.

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me why so many issues exists for vanilla setup. Windows 2012 basic configuration only .NET SP1 3.5 only. No further services + vCenter 5.1 = default installation does not compute.

If anyone could give me further tips/FYI - MUCH MUCH appreciated now.

Thank you!!
