I'm new to VMware vSphere and was tryinng to play around with trial version, before attend Fast-Track 5.5 class to learn further.

I unable to install Single Sign On 5.5 from "VMware-VIMSetup-all-5.5.0-1891310-20140201-update01" (60days trial version) into Windows Server 2008 R2 Std.

Anyone have idea on this, or ever experience this issue? Thanks in advance for help.

During installation of SSO, error message below appear,

"Service 'VMware Directory Service' (VMWareDirectoryService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

*i perform the installation using Local Admin account
*i have tried the following:

- set Windows Error Reporting service startup mode to Manual ( The service was Started during installation)
- install single sign on separately/custom installation

- install Prerequisite for SSO, openSSL and Pyhton manually before install SSO separately.

- my vCenter SSO Admin password doesnt contain the exclusion character list.

Please refer snaps below for my installation setting:
(I install in a fresh Wins Server 2008 R2 Std, standalone machine)
