Hello everyone,
I'm trying to install ESXi 5.5 (tried 5.1 too) on Gigabyte BRIX GB-BXi5H-4200.
Unfortunately, without luck so far.
Haven't checked but I'm almost sure it has many hardware not officially supported by VMware.
To be honest VMware has hardware policy witch makes it close to impossible to make some home lab for education purposes.
What it has insde: i5-2400U ver1.0 CPU, ddr3L RAM. SATA controler wifi/bt and other unimportant stuff. Has one RTL gigabit adapter.
As from vesion 5.5. there is no RTL net. driver anyway this not a big issue as VIB is available.
I have tried different BIOS settings and startup parameters.
Firstly I had hangup with message Initializing IOV, found workaround with setup parameter noIOMMU, I'm not happy about this choice but at lest got setup further, but unfortunately not much further - then I stuck on Initializing storage stack. Still didn't find workaround for this issue.
Tried ESXi version 5.1 it stuck on Initializing ACPI.
Have found some success stories using Google search, but unfortunately not any howto. So now I know - it should be possible, but don't know how, 
I'd be happy to hear (read) any advise/suggestions, whatever help to get it up and running.
