I updated the ESXi host from 5.0 to 5.5 by installing patch on an ESXi 5.0 host from the command line using esxcli software vib commands with the guide below.

After updating the ESXi host and vSphere client to 5.5, I am able to access the ESXi host through vSphere client.
But I cannot run any VM in the host.
When I try to power on a VM, error message "Transport (VMDB) error -45: Failed to connect to peer process." popped out, saying it failed to power on the VM.
Little information on error -45 can be found and I have no idea how to solve this problem.
I had tried updating the host to the latest version (5.5 update 2) and vmfs to vmfs5, but nothing improved.
What can I do to solve this?
