Re: Problems in Upgrade from ESX 4.00 To ESX 5.5 U2 on HP DL380 G6 .

thanks vNEXfor your information , but i don't know if the old engineers installed ver 4.0 or it was upgrade from 3.5 .

the block size is 1 MB .

the VMs don't have any active snapshots

the host contain only one datastore and the dvd .

I have some questions :

Can i migrate vms from ESXi4.0 to ESXi 5.5 through vcenter 5.5 directly without upgrading the ESXi 4.0 host ?

Do i have to to remove the dvd before upgrading .

thanks jassi007 for your articel but i revised it carefully before the upgrade but it didn't help .

regarding to the 2nd problem the block size in the two hosts are the same 1MB and the type of the data store format VMFS3 .

if there is any other information that can help
