I'd setup the new hardware and then either restore the VM's on the new host from the current backup, or use VMware Converter to V2V the VM's to the new host. André

The free edition uses the same binaries as the paid ones. It just has a few restriction. However, none of these restriction should cause any issues for VMs which were created on ESXi 4.1. André
