Like André say, this file is only a patch for a specific fix... make sure this is what you want, otherwise you will need the complete package to upgrade the whole vCenter.

It's likely more the disk controller (settings) than the HDD which causes this. Depending on the controller you may be able to make this work by changing BIOS settings. André
