Upgrade issue from vSphere 4.0 U1 to 5.5 U2

Hi, I'm trying to migrate from 4.0 to 5.5. When the install runs it tells me I have 3rd party custom vibs that are not on the .ISO. The warning is for 'vmware-esx-drivers-net-igb'. I've done some digging around and I believe the guys who installed it upgraded the Intel Quad ET 82576 card driver to version 1.3.19.12.1 as I can see the ofline-bundle folder which matches to that driver and I believe this is causing the problem. Couple of things I have done but still give the error:

1. Upgraded the Intel igb driver using vmware-esx-drivers-net-igb_400.3.1.17-1vmw.2.17.249663.452075.iso which has upgraded the card but error remains. I though getting the version closer to a 5.x version might work.

2. Used ESX-Customizer to replace the file on original 5.5 U2 ISO with igb-5.2.5-offline_bundle-1682588.zipigb-5.2.5-offline_bundle-1682588.zip.

I want to migrate as I don't have the knowledge to rebuild. Any ideas on how to get aorund this or any thought on what will happen if I plough through and accept that the module will not migrate over? If there is a compatible driver on 5.5 U2, will my network card config stick?

Much appreciated,

Stephen Cowley
