So you say with 512GB RAM that 4 standard licences is a better option? Could you explain why that is? From what I see there isn't any restriction on the amount of RAM with the essentials licence? There are extra features in the standard package which would be nice, but the hypervisor is our priority, and like I said the money available for this is limited.
Just to clarify, the essentials licence is a licence for 6 CPUs correct? So we could have 3 hosts with 2 CPUs in each, or 1 host with 6 CPUS? or as it is our case, 1 host with 4 CPUs?
Also just to be sure, the licences for VMware are independent of the number of cores in a CPU?
